As always, there are many sources of blame. We can blame Hollywood for all of Katherine Heigl's cheesy, clichéd, happy ending, "chick flicks." Or we can blame Facebook for questioning the status of a relationship, no one holds merit to "talking" or dating someone until it's "Facebook Official." You can even blame you mother for badgering you to find an nice boy/girl, settle down and pop out some grandkids for her. The list of blames could go on forever.
The point of this thought, is not to place blame or undermine the significance of a companion, but for at least a moment, look inside yourself for self validation. Look at what you have accomplished, look at the people in your life, look at what you have overcome. There is value in each and every individual. No one should have to depend on another person to "complete" the person they are. Anyone should be able to look at themselves as a single entity and be happy about what they see and a significant other should do nothing less than complement an individual in the best possible way.
